Trinity on Decatur - Excellent! *4.5/5 stars

Last Thursday the wife, her friend and I went downtown for her birthday, and we started at Trinity. It has excellent reviews on Yelp, so we gave it a shot in order to try something new. It has been open for about a year the waitress told us. (Sorry, no pics)
We started with two apps:
-Crispy Pork Belly: this was spectacular. It had the perfect balance of crunch and softness, and the caramel glaze was a great touch.
-Tempura Squash Blossoms: this was truly unique. It's the flower from the squash rather than the gourd. they stuff it with goat cheese, batter and fry it. It had a wonderful texture, and the flavor was light and delicious. I think this was our favorite item of the entire night.
For entrees we had the foll0wing:
-Seared Scallops: these were ok. scallops were perfectly cooked; however, the flavor was overall standard. Nothing good or bad about it.
-Grilled Pork Tenderloin: this was excellent. The pork was great, and the carrot puree complemented it perfectly. The fried pickles were the best I have ever had.
-Blackened Lamb Chops: by far everyone's favorite entree. This was absolutely outstanding. We all plan to go back, and this will be had every single time. Even my wife's friend loved it, and she swore she does not like lamb. The cauliflower was pureed as the sauce, and the cabbage was a home run. Seriously, this dish will have me returning quite often.
-Crawfish Beignets: we got this as a side. I liked it, but the wife and friend did not. They said it was too doughy, as if it wasn't cooked enough. Would not get again.
Desert:
-white chocolate pie with currant: yet another outstanding dish. My wife is not a big white chocolate fan, yet this has become her favorite desert of all time. She still talks about it a week later. It really was that good.
Drinks: the drink menu online is old, but they made these for us nonetheless.
-Royal Tart: this was the clear winner. It's tequilla, orgeat, frangellica and lemon. We all ordered different drinks, but after tasting this it's what each of us drank the rest of the night.
The only things keeping me from giving this a 5 star rating are the scallops and crawfish beignets. This has become one of my favorite restaurants in town, and we will frequent it often. It's a bit pricey, but I fell the service, food and atmosphere are worth it.
Has anyone else been? What are your thoughts?

I've been twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. We tried nearly everything on the menu between the two trips--all outstanding.

Good to hear. I want to try the foi gras pie and marrow/crap apps. Those sound ridiculous.

Thought it sucked and was overpriced tbh

I actually thought it was pretty meh to be commanding those prices. The pork belly was good, but I didn't like much else. The softshell crab was horrid. They had a few good drinks.

I've been twice as well. Hate you had a bad experience with the scallops. The time I tried them, I thought they were some of the best I had tried in a while.

Overpriced? Top 25 restaurants, particularly in the Quarter, can command $30 entrees. Seemed perfectly reasonable to me.

Way to many restaurants in a city that is losing population.

I didn't mean to give the impression they were bad. They were actually cooked perfectly with a nice char and tender center. The seasoning was basic, so it wasn't anything that stood out otherwise.
