OK, this is going to hurt my heart. We are going on a three day weekend to New Orleans on Aug 9 with some customers who all live in AL. What can I do with these people? Their itinerary thus far is: Acme, House of Blues (for karaoke, of course,) Crescent City Brewhouse, and trips up and down Bourbon St all day & night for Big arse Beers... fricking...Yay. They've got spirit, but they've got no soul. What can I do to ease the pain? I told Mrs Cove this is going to be like taking a bunch of people in airbrushed Panama City Beach tank tops & jorts to the South of France. I'm worried that they'll try to teabag someone at Krystal if I'm not careful. Please help. There will be seven of us, (three guys, four gals.) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

WWII museum? It's pretty awesome. Make sure to see the film first.

ETA: Oh. Food itinerary.

Never mind.

Tell them Acme doesn't take reservations and its too hot to wait in line. Suggest Peche.

Do you have any say so at all or time to yourself for any meals?

Can you offer to take care of all meal reservations at least?

I agree. Was there they weekend it opened. Not sure these folks will dig it though. I'm honestly worried they will buy Drunk1 and Drunk2 shirts...

We're meeting them there Fri night. They are apparently going down early and hitting the Saints game. That gives Mrs Cove and I around four hours for ourselves between seven and eleven.

I've tried. They are really excited about Crescent City Brewhouse, followed by Sat night karaoke at HOB though.

Where should I take Mrs Cove Fri night to try and make up for this?

Is that what's going on that weekend?

LE, you're a man of the people. Where can I take these sheds to make sure they have fun but to also be able to have a little myself? Other than watching the glorious and inevitable train wreck that they will become happen?

What about Pat O's? I never venture down Bourbon but I always have fun here. It would keep them in their element I guess.

Pat O's is pretty tolerable if you're in the FQ.

Lafittes isn't bad

Carousel bar

If you like to gamble walk over to Harrah's.

All in FQ

If you want "party" type places

Cats Meow Kareokee

Bourbon Street Blues Co; 3 for 1 upstairs

Razoo : kinda cheesy but a good place to dance and be stupid

As far as food, being a weekend and esp Saturday, you'll prob have a wait at a place like Acme.

Instead of Acme I'd try Dragos. It's on the Riverwalk. You won't have to stand outside in the heat to wait.

For a quick burger, check out Barcadia right across Canal St.

It doesn't sound like y'all want places you can get reservations?

Coop's Place would be right up their alley and is actually pretty decent.

Frenchman Street instead of Bourbon.

I do for Mrs Cove and myself on Fri night. The whole group on Sat, not so much.
