Historically great restaurant but this was long overdue.

Any word on what's opening in its place?

I wouldn't be surprised if Creole Cuisine bought the name and building.

I plan on going there next week before they close.

Yeah, it lost something when Mr. Tony died . The daughter and the chef just did not have the heart in the place. If Tony did not have his fingers in the food, it suffered. However, his nephew owns Vincent's uptown and in Metairie. Same stuff .....actually a good bit better

I proposed to my wife there in 1989.
Fond memories!
Sad to see it close.

Didn't we have a long thread on this a couple months ago?

It's a shame. I enjoyed it all the way back into the early 80's and have a fond memory of dinner with my older now deceased brother not long prior to Katrina with just he and I, some good wine and of course the Feed Me.

I miss La Riviera a lot too which I went to from way back. If I could have those crabmeat ravioli again I would be happy.

Will miss it. Will be there on the closing night as we typically go with wife's family for Christmas Eve when in Nola. Been doing that since about 1990.

Rough.

Tried to get some reservations today, but the phone sounds like it is off the hook. All the Lakeview blue hairs gotta get that last crab gravy bite in.

Yes that's correct and the price is at a point they do not want to pay.

Regardless, Vincents uses Ragu. Despicable for a place of that "quality" to not even make their own sauce.
