How much do you tip your delivery "person"? The normal order, a pizza and maybe an order of sticks or soda. $5

But that's for the couple of beers you have waiting for your pizza

Well, speaking as a delivery driver, I'm usually ecstatic to get 5 bucks. Around my neck of the woods 2-3 seems to be the average. Quite a lot of people don't tip at all though.
frick those people.

Where is your neck of the woods?

Haven't ordered pizza in years cause there is always quality pizza to be had at local eateries. However, I would think I'd tip somewhere between 15-20 %.

There are those who just refuse to tip and there are people who assume that the delivery fee is a tip, which it isn't.

$5 minimum. I had to pay for my own gas when I was a driver so I know those guys need it. Unless they forget part of my order. Been happening a lot lately.

So, um, what is it for? You pay for your car, your gas, your insurance, so what's the store's reason for charging $2-$3 for delivery? I'm guessing you don't get that $2-$3 for bringing me a pizza.
I suspect it's a slimy way to charge $12 for their "$10 pizza".

$10 pays for the pizza, the employee making it and some profit. The delivery fee pays the drivers wage.

You sure? It says right there on the website for a lot of these places that a delivery fee is not paid to the driver and to remember to tip your driver for awesomeness.

Don't these guys make minimum wage, unlike restaurant servers? I give 20%.
Posted on 3/15/15 at 12:12 am to SuperTigerMan
$5 if it comes in a reasonable amount of time. I had a pizza tak over an hour the other day and I stiffed the driver. No excuses for that shite. He said "I had problems finding your address"
That may have flew in 2001 but not in 2015 with everyone carrying a gps at all times.

No idea. That's what I'm trying to figure out. My go-to is 4 or 5 bucks on the tip, though. I'm just trying to clarify that "delivery charge" as it seems to me that it's utter bullshite that it costs the store $3 to deliver every single pizza.

We made minimum. What I'm saying is while the delivery fee may not directly go to the driver, you pay more for delivery because it involves an extra person to get your food to you.
