Anyone have ideas?
We have one friend landing at 8:15PM tonight and another one landing at 10:30PM. We're coming from/staying in BR tonight.
Looking for a good place to squat for an hour or two between flights within striking distance (~10-15 minutes) of the airport and without dealing with NOLA parking.
EDIT: Thanks FDB! Looks like Lagers is about 15-20 minutes away, I think that will work, $2 off local pitchers tonight.

If you are looking for a nice bar there is not much in the immediate vicinity. I would go to Casa Garcia on Vets.

I wouldn't drink at any bar near the airport. It really isn't in a place where one would find nice bars.
Maybe IN the airport.

This. I don't think Kenner has the type of establishment you're looking for.

Lagers in Metairie should be around 20 mins away

Laketown Bar and Grill on Williams and Vintage is pretty close and has decent enough drinks.
ETA: And no smoking in there too, so that's a plus IMO.

I would go to Harbor Seafood and sit at the bar. Pound oysters and abitas.

This.
The only other bar area I can think of close by would be the bar inside Brick Oven restaurant.
I haven't been to the Esplanade mall area in a while. Would one of the restaurants around there be worth it for a bar visit?

Tavern on Vets is right there but it's your standard Jeff Parish bar.

Hold up brah
Tavern is pretty legit. It's a cut above Stepbrothers and such.

Voodoo BBQ is two minutes from the airport. They have a decent beer selection, and alright food.

This, but substitute Abitas for something good.

I'm betting Abita is probably the extent of Harbor Seafood's "craft beer" selection.
