Anyone have this happen to you before?
Just got an email alert asking me to verify the tip amount

That happened once to me. I didn't mind since it seems increasingly common for restaurants, or I guess the waitstaff, to try and do this trick

Yeah didn't bother me. Just struck me odd since it wasn't some outrageous amount.

I got one of those alerts on a Capital One Visa. The lunch was $10 or a little less, and I left a $3.50 tip.
More than 30 percent apparently triggers the alert even if it's a paultry amount.

Yeah Capital Obe does it, and it's actually came in handy twice with places putting in the total as the tip (example: $20 ticket, $5 tip should have been $25 but they charged my card $45).
