I wonder how many people he's planning on finishing. You get your $25 entry fee returned AND $100. Which means if one in seven finishes, he's only making $25, which may not even cover the food costs of seven meals. My guess is that he's going to have to count on at least 9 of ten not to finish in order to break even.
Would be interesting to know how many people do finish in an hour to see if this is a brilliant and or money making promotion, or if he's going to lose his arse.
Another thing I noticed is that the contest itself is only three hours long. If he's giving away $10,000, he better have an acre of grill space for $25 burgers.
I also wonder if the 32oz soda is ALL you get to drink, which would add yet another twist.

Only the first to finish gets the $100.
I don't know very many people that could eat 3 lbs of meat, 8 slices of sausage, 18 pieces of bacon in addition to the bread and dressing.
Then add fries and a 32 oz drink?
The drink would be the clincher. That takes up a lot of space.

Only the first finisher gets $100. So as long as 4 more than half the entrants don't finish, he breaks even.

No, and besides the fact of how much I can cram into my belly, I have never understood the pride involved in how much you can devour. I'd honestly rather eat a burger that just tastes amazing and different than put 3 lbs of hamburger, 8 slices of sausage, 18 slices of bacon, 9 slices of cheese, and an entire muffaletta bun down my throat.
I have just NEVER understood what anyone gets out of eating to make themselves miserably sick. Gluttony plain and simple.

I'd like to split that burger with 4-5 people. As long as the meat is not overcooked.
