Leaving Gulf Shores today and thinking about stopping at this place for late lunch.

What's the best thing to get and is it worth the hype? Or am I better off just getting Zaxbys or Subway?

Forget what you hear from competitions, the shed is garbage. I say that as a local that grew up like 10 mins north of there.

ETA, they're closed today but pleasant's bbq (also in ocean springs) is really good.

If you want good BBQ, go to murky waters in Ocean springs. Exit 50. Downtown os. Good beer selection too

A coworker went last week and said the flies are terrible. He had to keep a napkin covering his food to keep them off. Just imaging what happens in the open air kitchen. Gross!

Haven't been since it burnt down a few years ago. The BBQ was ok. The atmosphere was kinda cool. Im spoiled for Big Mikes in Houma so take it for what its worth.

The shed is one of those places that it's cool to hate on.

It's good BBQ. Not mind blowing, but it's good BBQ.

Their sauce is way too sweet for me, but its a cool place to stop. It doesnt deserve the national accolades it receives imo though.

They CONSTANTLY win BBQ competitions but I'll agree with most that it's nothing special. Still good though. The atmosphere is why most people go.

It's not bad, but really expensive for what it is. It's more of a tourist thing than a BBQ thing. I don't find it to be better than say Big Mike's in Houma.

They just won the Memphis in May bbq fest overall champion, so they must be doing something right. At least during competition...

It's a fun place to have some decent food, good local beers and hear live music.

I had heard good things and my roommate said he had as well and when we stopped there on our way to the beach I was very unimpressed. Mediocre overpriced meat and the sauce tasted like it was straight from a Kraft bottle. Won't be going back .
