Dwights Seafood in Lafayette puts seasoning on after they are boiled.

Swamp Daddy's in Alexandria does it as well.

Could you expound further on this dip? The only crawfish dip I have seen was mayo based

Its just that easy. Fill a ramekin halfway with white vinegar and then put about a teaspoon of powder seasoning in it. Peel a tail and dip it in the vinegar. I am prepared to tell you that the first couple of bites you take will shock your tongue. After you eat a few, you will be hooked.

I will actually make a bowl of the vinegar and peel a bunch of tails and let them soak in the vinegar and then eat them with a fork. It is heaven.

Canes sauce is a direct copy of what people from Lafourche/Terrebonne having been using as a seafood dip for 50 years.

So the folks from Guthrie's chicken fingers in Alabama got their sauce from Lafourche/Terrebonne? ... because that's who Todd Graves copied.

I've bought Crawfish after an LSU baseball game in Oxford, MS twice.

1st time was a place called Rebel Boilers. They don't season their boil with anything but lemons, and just shake a mess load of seasoning on after. Had i known that at the time I would have got back in my truck and drove off.

The 2nd time was Landshark. Now that guy knew what he was doing. Well almost he seasoned his boil to almost perfection but still insisted on the ice chest shake.

Bottom line is this. No matter how bad anywhere in LA does crawfish, you'd be hard pressed to do as poorly as Rebel Boilers and most places in MS.

may be a direct result of bland and dry crawfish resulting from using the ice chest shaker met
This is the dumbest post I've ever read on this board.

I'm from Laffy and we never used the "ice chest shaker" method of seasoning but still used dip

Looks like they came up with there sauce in 78.

My family has been making seafood dip for far longer than that.

I've lived in laffy for 20 yrs and not once have I seen someone cook crawfish using this ice chest "shaker" method, who the frick does this, hell I've never seen any restaurants around here do that either
Is this real??

I have, but only to spice up further crawfish boiled in already heavily seasoned water. Lemon juice is poured on top to help the powder seasoning liquify with the heat.

Only one experience in Lafayette area where it was bland water with everything on the shells. Gator Cove. Will never eat there again. Every other place is just seasoned water or a combination of both.

And yes, the OP is dumb.

Seafood Dip (mayo-ketchup-whatever else you like) is a way of life in Terrebonne. And I'll put our crawfish up against anyone's.
