Someone menationed that Huy Fong makes a garlic chili paste type sauce also that comes in a kind of a jar.

Well I'm looking for it locally and none of of the supermarkets in my town carry it. One carries this one:

But not this one:

So can anyone elaborate on these two? I love sriricha if it's huy fong and I'd like to check out their other stuff.. I'm going to go ahead and pick up the gold label one in town but what is the difference?

I'm debating on ordering the garlic paste one from amazon if it's good.

What makes it different than the squeeze bottle sriricha?

Sambal oelek is the TITS. Better than sriracha. It is hot - nothing but crushed peppers, garlic and vinegar - and thicker than sriracha. I'll just dip crackers or tortilla chips in it and eat it like salsa -- brutal, brutal salsa.
I usually just get the stuff with the green lid. A friend of mine said the stuff with the gold label is better, but I can't find it anywhere/don't think of getting it when I'm at an Asian food store. I think they don't have garlic in the gold label one, it's just peppers.

Yea, that's good for me then bc the gold one is carried at a SuperOne store but I can't find the green labeled one someone on this board mentioned in a Sriricha thread that they liked it better than the squeeze sauce.

I'll go pick up the gold label today. I found some offical Huy Fong branded sriricha kethcup there as well and it's pretty good.

I love this stuff, always in my house. Although there is a garlic chili and then just a chili version. I like just the chili because the garlic is too overpowering and the chili gives the heat you want without taking over. I put it in rice dishes, curry, etc.

I think I have the Huy Fong brand.

I have the Chili Garlic one, haven't tried the Sambal Oelek yet. Think I got the chili garlic at Rouses, could be mistaken though, it's been a while. I put it in my fried rice dishes. Really like it. Just adds another depth of flavor compared to Sriracha.

The clear label is better than the gold label.
