Okay, with the absence of a response from the site administration, I can only assume that they neither support nor oppose this event. We will now refer to it as The Jambalaya cook off, but are open to new names that DO NOT incorporate TD, lets hear some suggestions

Unfortunately I'll likely be in Edmonton, Canada on May 14th. If by some chance we finish up with the job up there I'll definitely come by and join the festivities. Sounds like fun. Good luck everyone.

Had a very sparsely attended but productive meeting. Seems Jeepfreak has made a lot of connections and this thing is headed to be a success. Still fine tuning some rules and guidelines but this is what we have so far

It will be at big heads bar parking lot on Millerville on Saturday may 14 the afternoon. $20 entry fee per pot and check must be received by May 1st. Entry fee must be made by check that will be written out to your choice of 2 predetermined charities and mailed in or dropped off. The charities to choose from are the semper fi fund, or little Angels foundation ( more about both later)

Pressed enter to early more to come in next post

The day of the event admission will be $5 and you get a braclet that allows you to sample all the Jambalya available and each braclet gets 5 tickets to vote for the people's choice award. The cook that wins the people's choice award gets to choose a charity ( must be pre approved ) and all money collected the day of the event will go,to that charity.

Cooking rules will be finalized and available prior to event, but basically you cook a 5 gallon or less pot, your choice of what you want to put in it, (pork, chicken, seafood, wild game, road kill etc) on propane, you can prep as much as you want before hand but cooking must be on site , to make it simple you have start with raw rice and cook it onsite , if you want to cut your veggies, meat, make your stock or smoke some meat before hand that is fine. You will have 3 hours to cook and you are responsible for providing all of your own groceries and cooking equipments. At the conclusion of cooking you will provide one sample to the judges and the rest will,be available for the people's choice award.

Judging. There will be 3-5 judges that have yet to be determined , there will be 2 categories Cajun and creole or more simply any product with tomatoes and any product without. First, second and third places will be awarded in both categories and Jeepfreak has some pretty damn nice prizes already lined up
