The Jambalaya cookoff

Updates to the previous Thread, we have made some progress. The date will be May 14, starting registration @ 3:00. Jeep freak has graciously offered to host the event At big heads bar on Millerville. I have taken the lead by default but have quickly realized I can not do it alone, I am asking for anyone who can help to speak up and we can have a planning meeting at the bar in the very near future, if I am unable to get a handful of people to help and firm commitments of 8 cooking teams, i think it would be best to shelve this idea, but really think we can do this and have a lot of fun. We can discuss details and tweak things at the meeting, but right now I am thinking it will go down something like this
Each cooking team pays $20 registration fee in advance
Each person attending that is not cooking pays $5
Each person registered (cooking or not) gets 5 voting tickets
Each cooking team decides how much jambalaya they want to cook and what they want to put in it, and provides their own groceries and supplies
Cooking on propane only, no open fires
Official judging will be by a team of judges that have yet to be decided
Peoples choice will be by the voting tickets, each person can sample as many jambalaya as they want and place tickets in buckets at their favorite tents, bucket with most tickets wins
What do y'all think?
I have emailed the tiger dropping gmail account asking for thoughts about this , but to date have not heard back, can someone expedite that request?

Sounds good, but the creator of the Jambalaya Calculator deserves a judgeship. I don't know why I think that, I just do.

First place gets a trophy? or a bottle of Ghost?

I'll try to make it out there. I'll watch y'all cook while I drink
We can drink in the parking lot??? Or we need to go inside big heads bar?

Firm commitment from me and my cooking partner. Sounds like it'll be a fun experience. Any ideas on the charity?

The charity should probably be that bridge house foundation that Chicken supports

How bout all contestants pick a charity. If your team wins the money donated made goes to whatever charity you chose..... Within reason. Charity must be choosen at registration.

Since this is a jambalaya cookoff of this board, Stadium Rat and Pochejp HAVE to be judges.
Anything less would be inappropriate.

I'll compete.
Winner's prize should be the ability to decide the charity that will receive the funds.
Let me know on planning meeting... In traveling alot, but if in town will come

Why? Because of some app?
They didn't create the act of eating jambalaya. They aren't experts on that.
The list of judges is listed above. #TeamHusky
Anything less would be frickin weak.

We're working on getting a trophy, but Chicken needs to get back to Tigerpaw before we can put the TD name on it and/or even call this the TD F&D cookoff.
We'll also get some schwag from the beer distributors to give out to winners; tees, beer signs, etc. There may also be a bar tab involved.

I had a great charity in mind, but......
sounds like a great idea, we will go with that
keep in mind with a $20 entry fee and $5/per person after expenses, we aint going to have a whole lot to donate

We could always donate to a "scholarship" at Baton Rouge Sports Restaurant.
