The St Charles fixture is closing soon.

This is a sad day. What ends up taking its place will say a lot about the future of Nola dining in the area.

Not sure how many places can afford that premium rent.

I lived half a block from there for good while and never set foot in the place.

I'd always scare at least one rat into one of the holes in the side of the building every time I walked by, though. I guess whatever new tenant they find can figure out how to evict them.

More parking in the hood than there. That place had a really good Cuban sandwich. Always rented an apartment for Mardi Gras right there and would frequently get those Cubans and cut them up like a type of finger sandwich for the crowd.

One of the best Cubans ever. But I haven't stopped in the place since before Katrina, probably.

The owner was a real jerk to me and my friends a few years ago. Never went back.

That sucks. I always enjoyed the shrimp club. I bet it was tough with other sandwich shops (Milk Bar, Stein's, and I guess Mahoney's -tourist purposes) close by.

I hang out over there, for Mardi Gras, too. I have family on Conery.

I have never thought to go there besides Mardi Gras. For a while I thought it only opened for Mardi Gras
