Stanley's Famous Pit BBQ in Tyler, Texas.

And my opinion encompasses eating at BBQ places such as Black's, Kreuz Market, Smitty's (best brisket), Lockhart's, J Mueller's (2nd best brisket), The Salt Lick (Driftwood, Round Rock and ATX airport), Hard 8 and Van's BBQ throughout Texas.

Still waiting to try Pecan Lodge.

They are some of the best restaurant ribs I have had. It's a very legit BBQ place.

Most ribs in Texas are pork

Very few places do beef rib justice, imo

Not pictured, beef brisket.

Best beef ribs I have had are at Black's. Anxious to try Pecan Lodge.

Not to engage in an online BBQ war (because you have listed some great ones) but don't name one GOAT until you try The Salt Lick in Round Rock. That place makes me drive out of my way to eat there every time I pass near it.

Stanley's is a must for me when going to Shreveport from dallas

Went there one night with a coworker and it was $1 brisket taco night. Ordered $80 worth of bbq and sides and tacos. Was also $1 beers and live music on the patio

Doesn't get much better than that

Salt lick in round rock is peanuts compared to the original. Original is still top 5 for me.

You are right. I meant Driftwood but just grabbed the city name off of Google (not a TX person). Looking at the map, the original is the one I always visit.

Salt licks ribs are the best thing that they have. Their brisket is pretty mediocre.

My apologies. I have eaten at Salt Lick in Round Rock and the original one in Driftwood. If you like Salt Lick (and I do), go to the original one. Bring cash, it's all they accept and BYOB as well.

I love Salt Lick's BBQ sauce, however I don't think it's the best BBQ I have had. It's good and I continue to go, but I still stand by my original post.

My experience with Texas BBQ joints and pork ribs has been less than flattering (although limited because I've pretty much conceded defeat and no longer order them). Seems like they just put black pepper on them and smoke'em over oak.

TX has mastered brisket (my all-time favorite BBQ) but for pork ribs go east young man.

I liked City Market in Luling. Great ribs and brisket. Sausage not so good. I have heard great things about Mt. Zion in Huntsville and Meyer's in Elgin.

...meaning they've closed? I usually stop off at Birdie's for a turkey neck when passing through Luling.
