The guy boiled them in plain water for 4-6 minutes.
They removed them and put them in that thing, then hit it with a lid. The dude dusted them like a couple of times before they were ready.
These are legit.
What a fricking waste of crawfish. Next time have him bring me the bugs to boil. He can eat the seasoning out the bag while we eat good .

Weekend of my grad school graduation . Classmate's family in LaRose threw a huge party right on the bayou. Started with crawfish and ended with Cajun music sometime late in the night . Many, many years ago, remember like it was yesterday . What a time.

me and some buddies were boiling crawfish at the camp. so we're on the dock standing around the pot and this pontoon boat of hot chicks passes by. they see what we're cooking and come dock up. i throw on some tunes and these girls start doing beer bongs and taking their tops off. one girl kisses another, she kisses someone else, and before you know it we've got a full blown naked show going on. no one ate crawfish.

KJ's office party last year catered by yellowfin. Best crawfish and the best time I've had. And the beer selection was stellar

One of te best was when we trailered up 4 sacks and hamper of crabs to Shelby county alabama. We pulled in, grabbed a beer, off loaded, filled the pots, started the boil then told everyone hello. Rolled in with a mission. All the locals came over and had a great time that evening.

Me and 6 buddies rented a giant camp on Toledo for a weekend of fishing. Had our own launch and huge 3-boat wharf, all covered. Brought three sacks of selects and boiled them on the wharf that night. Brought some self-powered speakers and cranked up the Wayne Toups. Folks 3 camps down on either side came out and we invited them all down. Made alot of new friends (and learned of some killer fishing spots) that night. Thats one of my favorites.
The other would be trucking 2 sacks to Charlotte, North Carolina to Dad's house and boiling them 2 days later for a bunch of Yankees then teaching them how to peel and suck the heads of crawfish. Great times.

I have never tried the plain water boil, but I would love to see a blind taste test of the various techniques. I'm skeptical, but I'm not gonna shite on it until I try it.

I don't know about a single boil but back in 2004, there was a late chill in the weather that lasted about 2 weeks, just as the crawfish farms were wanting to start harvesting. The extra cold weather caused them to go back in their holes and there was slim pickings for a while.
When it warmed back up, all of the harvests were huge. Every boil I went to that year had giants.
