Need help with a baked turkey recipe for thanksgiving. If possible a recipe with detailed instructions so I don't screw it up. I usually fry the turkey but I don't have that option this year as we will be out of town. First time baking one.

TIA.

You can help yourself by using a cooking bag.

Be certain you get it into the refrigerator soon, if it is frozen. Like a full five days before Thanksgiving.

Go to Butterball website and follow their advice. remember time and temperature. Basting is great. I have not brined a turkey in 400 years and won't start this year.

Some will cook their turkey in a brown in bag and that helps to both hold in the moisture and brown the bird.

Make certain he is thawed before cooking.

Read and follow this.
