How do you cook a thanksgiving ham? I've seen people put pineapple slices/cherries on there and apply a glaze. I've never actually cooked one myself. Any help is appreciated and happy holidays FDB

Look up Alton browns bourbon ham.

Add a little maple to the bourbon, It's awesome.

ETA: the most important part for a cooked or raw ham is to ignore the directions and bring it up to temp SLOW.

250 until you hit temp.

Rub it down with mustard and fry it after your turkey is done. The grease is garbage but that ham is AMAZING!

My goto bereavement meal.

Spiral Ham Recipe (the ones already cured and spiral cut )

Inject ham.
1 part unsweetened pineapple juice
1 part honey
1/2t cayenne pepper

Smoke or bake at 225 for 3 hours cut side down in a deep foil pan.

Remove from pan. Place on sheet pan or similar.

Wet ham with drippings. Rub outside of ham generously with sugar mixture.

1 cup sugar - 1/2 brown sugar and 1/2 white
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/8 teaspoon paprika
1 dash ground ginger
1 dash ground allspice

Caramelize sugars with torch.

( I pick up several of these after Jan 1 on the cheap and freeze. )

Tom Fitzmorris's root beer glazed ham is quite good. I've made it numerous times.
