I remember being hungover after the va tech game back in 07 and driving to lake Charles. Stopped at some roadside place and bought a shite load of crawfish pies. I still have dreams about them

Grandma selections.

Mom's mom made the best fried chicken.

Dads mom.. Rice and gravy.

Food I paid for...? First steak I ever had at a Ruth's Chris caliber place. It was in NO at Dickie Brennan's. ribeye. Not bone in either. First bite was a revelation. Always thought steak was steak and "what makes it worth the extra cost compared to Outback?" I learned.

Hmmmmmh.

Choquitos in Vilagarcía D´Arousa, Galicia, Spain.

Then again, Santiaguiños in Latakia, Syria. Really.

Possibly the Galician fare was a bit more enjoyable, as it was ´furtive´or illegal, but these big arse Santiaguiños in Syria were da shizen as well.

Please post a picture for the Spanish thing unless that's illegal too. I bet the Syrian thing was great unless they used chemical warfare in which case here again un pc.

This. My maw maw was known for her corn maque choux. Thankfully, my non-cajun mother was assertive enough to preserve what was about to be lost......and we can still enjoy this dish today.

My mom's chicken fried steak or her chicken n rice and gravy. Both have been tied for my fav since I was a kid.

A close second is her pork chops. Can't get any of that at a restaurant.

In any case Spain is awesome but you are so arrogant, condescending, and pretentious it is nauseating. Why don't you go back there and reduce the umemployment rate from 25%to 24.99999999%.

One day at the camp, we decided we needed to cook some stuff to clean the freezer out.

Into a 12 gallon black iron pot went wood ducks, mallards, squirrels, rabbits, doves, deer roasts, a yard chicken, and a snapping turtle.

Not quite sure what you call it, but its one of those things that sticks with you. 20+ family and friends, great weather, cold beer, and a location that's been a family tradition for 3 generations makes for some of the best eating on this planet.

. For you maybe....I found the dish poorly executed., but again, maybe my standards are high...

Abalone steaks at a friends house when I was about 10. His father was a diver, and he would bring home a bunch whenever he went diving off the California coast.
