I'm hoping he's making fun of the incessant "rockstar chef" hyperbole that the k street marketing department has been pushing. "rockstar" chefs don't work at branch restaurants turning out bland 110 year old recipes. But, he has a beard and tattoos so he's halfway there. He may very well have a lot of talent that galatoire's didn't utilize, I don't know. The menu looks very good. Excited about going to try it tomorrow, so I guess the hype machine is working.

They did zero to market or establish themselves,

This is accurate. I do professional photography / video work and went in there the week they opened. I met with the owners and pointed out that they had zero pre-opening buzz and that I could help them. Offered to shoot some photos and video and pimp them on social media. Best part is I live right down the street so I offered to do the work in exchange for a tab on food and drink. Figured that would be easy for them and a cinch. They blew me off.

Turns out I am glad they did. Are there three times really, really wanting to like it due to location but couldn't get a decent meal. If I had done the work, I probably never would have eaten enough to work off my fee.

You must be picky. Never been to Table, but I could be happy with a tab from Jack in the Box.

I'm just playin with you. I get your point.

Ha, Kelley is one of my oldest friends and I'm just keeping the K-Street hype train going. We went to the New Year's Eve bash which was the first night they entertained clients and had great time. Heading back tonight to try the full menu.

I heard a rumor Grub Burger out of Lafayette was coming into this spot. Can't seem to get confirmation though.

Table was fine, but a few dollars overpriced for what it was. No buzz, crappy location, and an unimaginative menu meant that I only went a few times before scratching it off my rotation.

And I'm someone who is willing to pay a premium for good, interesting food.

Went once recently and thought it was a nice atmosphere. We were seated next to the bathrooms so I didn't enjoy that.

Food was expensive but very good IMO. Appetizers (duck dish) were amazing and our meals were above average.

I agree with the advertising and marketing miss. No one knew it was there. Little buzz generated

when they first opened they had the Vietnamese wings that were butterflied. They were incredible.

I believe they stop doing those after 2 months of being opened.

The atmosphere and decor was the best part. Although the corner of the bar near the front door was a disaster. The opening in the bar where stuff is run through should not be by the front door.

Nothing about the food was amazing though. We were hard pressed to get anything I would consider very good. Maybe the fish dip.

Agree about the Vietnamese wings. Those were the best thing I had from there.

The burger was not on the level of other less expensive burgers in town. My least favorite item was the tacos, though. They just had dry pork with no sauce in them.
