Supper clubs?

How many of you belong to supper clubs? Does yours hire professional chefs, or use local talent? What is the going rate on memberships? Do you pay the chefs based on the cost of ingredients and labor or a flat rate? I am thinking about trying to drum up interest in my town for one. TIA.

I only remember these from the 1970's. Didn't know they even still existed.

I couldn't help but think about this article when I saw the thread title.

In point, I did dinner lab in NOLA before I moved. It was great.
