Suggestions for alternatives for Soda
Posted by JordonfortheJ on 6/13/17 at 4:21 pm13
Been addicted to soda as a youngin... Have tried several times to get off soda but usually turn right back into in less than a month.
Water is ok, but is too plain for someone who craves carbonation/sweet. I drink some juices but they are usually more of sugary type.. Like sunny d and some of the Simply brand. What do you guys drink?

There are lots of similar ones out there. Winn-Dixie stocks a brand called Polar that has some great flavors. This is my favorite. Orange Vanilla. No sugar or artificial sweetener, but nicely carbonated.

Crystal Light. Mix in a 20 ounce bottle of water. put in freezer to make it slushy. I always have one in my hand and another getting cold in the freezer.

Sparkling water. That's all I drink now. I haven't had a flavored soda in years. You'll get over the sugar addition, and the carbonation will satisfy you.
Taste different ones, and see which you like best.
My favorite is Perrier, but I drink Pelligrino often too.

You shouldn't suggest something like this. I think modern day humans already ingest too many potentially dangerous chemicals.
I was drinking a couple of diet mt. dews a day for several years, and about 8 mos ago I stopped cold turkey and switched to unsweetened iced tea. Once I did that I was drinking probably 64 ozs of that per day. I switched to about 90% water a month ago, and once the caffeine headaches wore off I really didn't miss either much anymore. I think if I would have gone from soda to water it wouldn't have stuck, but soda to tea to water went pretty well. I just have to make sure it's ice cold for some reason, so I have one of those stainless steel tumblers that everyone has (not a yeti) that I drink from all the time.

Maybe look at trying some kombucha. It has a little bit of sugar, but nothing compared to soft drinks.
As for sparkling water, I like lime topo chico the most.

I absolutely loathe tea, almost makes me nauseous. I've tried some sparkling water but, if honestly rather drink plain water because the flavor was not good. It could've been just the brand.. Was just some cheap Great Value stuff.
Thinking about just add a different soaking water mixed with soda and slowly diluting it until it gets disgusting and see if I can stand alone with just the sparkling water
