I think Cuisinart and Hamilton Beach make good slow cookers also

Thanks

Trying to start this cooking thing, and think that a slow cooker would be ideal with my busy schedule

Theyre all pretty much the same, just depends on the size/look you want.

The one thing my next crock pot will have that my current one is sorely missing is some sort of timer, and I'm tempted to pick one up at the hardware store for my current model. If you work a 9 hour day and the recipe calls for less cooking time than that, unless you have a timer that either keeps the food on warm after the desired time, or you program it to begin once you're away, you won't be able to simply come home to a perfectly cooked dish.

In other words, if you're intending on using this while you're away at work to come home to a meal, you should consider one with a timer.

mine has a 4, 6, 8 and 10 hr setting......after the time is complete it switched to "warm"................its a Cuisineart i believe.
