Everything I read had these two pretty dead even. At the same price point which would you choose if you were going to buy one today?

Joule is quite a bit smaller for easy storage. Wasnt worth additional $60 for me though. Bluetooth version Anova works like a boss

I have Joule and love it. The app is awesome.

No idea about Anova but I believe Anova is cheaper.

I have an older Anova and I'm really happy with it. Byt if purchasing today I'd go with the Joule because it has a lower water immersion depth and has more power. There are times I have to put more water in the pot than I really need just so I can get past min fill line. I also do a lot of short cooks in metal pots, so I like the Joule's magnet too. Although that may be gimicky, I would be able to use let water (and heat up faster) using a Joule on bottom of pot compared to clipping Anova to top of pot. I wouldn't worry about the Joule being tied to a phone because you're probably using it at home where you know you have a phone charger. That said, you won't go wrong with either.

I got the bluetooth Anova for Christmas and it is a game changer. I can't compare because I haven't tried the Joule, but this is no Salad Shooter which gets stored away until a future garage sale. I use is 3-4 times a week and it had improved what I put on the table.

The joule app is super nice but anova has improved there's recently. I usually look at both before cooking to compare temps & times.

So if you like your streak with burnt outside edges do you take it out of the bag and throw it on the grill real quick ?

What purpose does the app serve?

I just purchased the Kitchen Gizmo brand. It was the rated one on Amazon. Doesn't have Bluetooth but I don't think I need that. I love it. So far so good

The quality of the water heated by the Anova is far superior to the water heated by the Joule.

The Joule is also white in color which can upset the feng shui balance needed for rendering animal flesh suitable for harmonious consumption within the Earth's natural cycle of life.

The packaging of the Anova is a long cylinder which in contrast to the harsh edges of the rectangular cardboard coffin the Joule arrives in, is soothing to the touch and spirit.

The decision, to me is clear.
