Philay's is more casual, Sno's is more not casual.

What are you looking for? They are 20-30 minutes from BR. Assuming you in that area of Gonzales.

Both have been recommended. We live in Houston so driving 30 minutes for a dinner out is no big deal. Just don't want to drive to NOLA.

There are A LOT better places to go if you are in BR. You are staying in BR?

I lived 10 minutes from both and they would never be on a list of recommendations for out of towners.

Staying in Baton Rouge. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Casual or fine dining

Change your title to BR restaurants and list the style of food, day, price you want to pay.

You seem pretty open, so that may be hard to do. If you know the area and don't want to drive far you may want to list that.

No lack of suggestions will come.

I would think
Ninos
Stroubes
Beausoleil
City Pork
Le Creole
Ruffinos
French Market Bistro
Latils Landing
Maison Lacour
Jubans
Mansurs
IPO

Will be the suggestions

Sorry I am wide open. We come to Baton Rouge during football season 5 or 6 weekends a
year but always don't take the time to explore food options that are not near campus. Thanks for the list, I will yelp away.

I agree and I live close to both, I like phillays better but Sno's has a few nice things on their menu, but would not reccomend driving to either from BR, more of a kind of local place to get a decent meal

If looking for seafood and such in BR, try La Lagniappe, Juban's, mansurs, la creole, for upper end and dempsys, mike Andersons, Jasmines on the bayou for more casual

If you want a place that you will not frequent during football season look at Latil's Landing, Cafe Burnside for during the day.
