Yeah you're probably right; I should have stated that they moved too soon from draft right into full-scale production instead of giving their brewery time to develop a following and also give them time to iron out their production and quality control.
what they shouldve done is never released a shitty product to the public in the first place. their first beers were awful. i have zero idea how anyone at tin roof couldve tasted that crap and thought it was a good idea to let others try it.

this point confuses me. why would new belgium coming to louisiana promote growth in the craft beer industry?
we already get dozens of breweries that are better than nb.
I guess because Fat Tire is one of the biggest gateway beers that lead people into more craft beer. Though I would think that Abita Amber, Sam Adams Boston Lager and Shiner Bock would also be gateway beers.

People told them and they wouldn't listen.
Then when they hired a new brewer, instead of letting him ditch the old awful recipes and start over they have changed the recipes slowly over time.
IMO this took a bad decision and made it that much worse. Its really frustrating to never know what you are going to get when you order one of their beers.

and sierra nevada and brooklyn and stone, ect.
introducing more people to craft beer is a great thing, but the poster stated that nb coming here would lead to more craft breweries opening in louisiana. i just dont see the correlation.

none of these seem to have the somewhat cult following that Fat Tire does though. Yuengling is the only other beer that I can think of that people in LA seem to go crazy over

Tin Roof suffered because their beer sucks.

Sn is the 2nd largest craft brewer in the country. But the gateway thing isnt my point at all. I just dont see how nb coming to louisiana equals more craft breweries opening in la. Thats my only point.

I think the OP is saying that nb bringing a 'craft gateway beer' like fat tire to the LA market will create more craft drinkers and in turn encourage more craft breweries to open in LA.
I really don't agree.... I think the small number of Louisiana breweries has more to do with our distribution laws and not the number of craft drinkers.

Maybe very indirectly, as having New Belgium should be a boost for craft beer in general in the state. More people drinking Fat Tire instead of BMC is a good thing no matter how Fat Tire is regarded amongst us.
