I just bought some of this rice last week at Fresh Pickins. Has anyone tried it before? I will be making some this weekend and adding in peppers in onions as a side dish.

I bought some at Rouses a few months ago....it needs a little more water than standard long grain. The purple color stays pretty bright after cooking.

Yep, my wife bought a bag (she went McGill University and Tulane . . . so not because of LSU ) She had some of it in a salad that this guy delivers Uptown to various shops, and she wanted to try it at home.
Anyway, it's actually very good. And it's actually pretty nutritious. Apparently it's enhanced naturally and genetically with "compounds normally found in blueberries, green tea, and red wine; as well as brown rice."
I was skeptical but I tried it and liked it. It's pretty versatile. I've used it in a couple of things so far.
