Really a letdown - was easily the best quick service burger joint chain in America. I always feel like it's an indictment on the quality of meat when a place doesn't serve their burgers rare

Ordering a burger rare, especially from a fast food place, is retarded.
I anticipate 2 downvotes. One from you, and one from Gaston.

I always feel like some douchebag sued them, so they said screw it.

Eating ground meat rare is dumb. We're not talking about a steak here.

I don't care what the chance of getting sick is. I don't want to bite into a burger and taste cold red meat in the middle of it. The possibility of getting sick is just lagniappe.

When did I claim it as fact? Why do you go out of your way to try to pick arguments with me?

Glad I gave the appropriate answer then

People that dont eat rare ground meat for safety concerns have been mislead. There is a 1:800,000 chance of contracting E.coli from rare ground meat
Americans eat 50 billion burgers a year. By your odds, that's 171 E. coli cases per day. Let's do this!

Friends, public service announcement here:
I stopped eating pink burgers in medical school, after learning about E.coli 0157, which can cause hemolytic uremic syndrome. That condition is as bad as it sounds. The chances are low, sure, but the effects are potentially deadly. I love my rare steaks, and my wife loves them even more. Neither of us will order even a medium rare burger, however. The issue is that the bacteria on the surface of the meat gets ground into the meat when the grinding occurs. That bacteria does not get killed when the ground meat is only seared.

It was incredible. It was my first sous vide burger.
