Phil's BBQ

Waffle Spot for breakfast

Hodads

The Taco Stand

I went to the one's above and all very good

I found this for you though. Looked interesting. I only went through the first 16 or so. More specific dishes.

50 must eats before you die...lol

I like Asti, a very good Italian restaurant in the Gaslamp Quarter. As far as the "view", the outdoor seating is atmospheric.

My favorite restaurant in California is Water Grill. I have been to the one in LA, the one in Orange County, and the one in San Diego. It's in the glaslamp district so not on the coast if that's what you meant by view.

Hash House a go go for breakfast. Portions are massive though

Hodads was great for a burger.

Lobster west was good for a quick bite.

La Posta No. 7. Hole in the wall but awesome.

Robertos tacos are good too. For decent food but an incredible view, George's at the Cove in La Jolla. Rubio's fish tacos is a chain but they have the best fish tacos IMO.

Mt wife and I ate at a place called Seersucker in the Gaslamp District a few years ago, it was a great meal.

Also, second the Italian restaurant Asti recommendation

Catch a cab to ocean beach and hit Pizza Port. Good pizza and they their own beer.

If you plan on visiting Little Italy, which you should, Bencotto is the best Italian food I've ever had. All pasta is hand made. If you're by yourself, go around 5PM and snag a bar seat. The restaurant books up nightly.

I love the Fish Tacos at Oscar's. A couple of locations but I like the one in PB.

George's in La Jolla as others have said for an amazing view. Food is good as well.

Bottega American downtown had some amazing Italian food. I had a Burratta salad and Pappardelle w/ braised lamb which was amazing. I still think about that dish 2 years later. Good atmosphere too.

I really enjoyed the food in San Diego. I enjoy the freshness of the food with the Baja Mexican flair. And every place you go will have amazing beer!

Point Loma seafood

When I lived in Cali I'd go there and grab some chowder, smoked wahoo and a beer. Watch the long range boats come in with 200-300# tuna. Good times.
