Torchy's Tacos is pretty good...there's also a tapas place called Mi Luna that I think we ate at that was pretty good. The Chocolate Bar is worth a visit at least once, but I have a bit of a sweet tooth...it's basically just a giant candy shop with ice cream and things like that.

I never had a chance to really go out in the area as it wasn't really a visit for fun when I was there.

A lot of the bars lean toward the college crowd, I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for. If it is, just bar hop Gingerman, Baker Street, Woodrows, etc.

Benjy's is good for a more upscale feel. The liberty Kitchen folks just opened up a place called Little Liberty. I haven't been, but everything they do is top notch. Local Foods is great. Torchy's for tacos.

Mi Luna is a fun spot to grab tapas and strong drinks. If you can, make reservations at a place called Benjy's, the food is very good amd the eye candy upstairs at their small bar is astounding

The Ginger Man, Bronx bar, Baker Street pub. and Brian O'Neill's are all within a stones throw of each other, you should definitely go check out each one just to see what vibe suits you best.

All in all, the area will be very popular considering the weekend weather will be nice.

Coppa had a really good lunch. Italian/Mediterranean. The lamb burger and wilted greens with crispy garlic was awesome.

Tapas/drinks at ambrosia before you go out. You won't be disappointed.

Torchy's is awesome, and we went to Antica Osteria when we were down there for the bowl game, and I really enjoyed it.

Under the volcano with Kay's accross the street. Little Woodrow's and Simone on sunset. Very underrated place to go out in Houston

FYI, Baker Street closed its Rice Village location earlier this year. Lost the lease, I think. There are still a lot of other good drinking spots.

As others have said, Torchy's is a favorite for my wife and I. Cyclone Anaya's is our go to sit down Mexican in that area. Punk's (next door to Cyclone's) has great brunch.

Yep. Clicked here to say Punk's as well.

Check out Cloud 10 for some very unique ice cream and sorbet flavors.

Punk's is on one side of Cyclone, Cloud 10 is on the other.
