Ribs and removing the backside membrane

Whats the easiest way to do this? Last few times I didn't take it off and I felt like it just kind of burnt up. And the times before that when I did take it off, it took me forever and felt like I was barely taking anything off.

Loosen up the membrane in one place with the handle of a spoon or fork. Take a dry paper towel and grab it. The whole thing will peel off easily.

pull a corner of it up with the backside of a knife, then kinda work your finger under it it get a good section loose, the rip it off slowly by hand

Slide a knife down one of the bones and make a little cut. You should be able to get a finger or two under and on it and make a clean tear of the whole thing.

The dry paper towel is key to be able to get a good grip.

I always have tried the dry paper towel and it help grip it, but I cant really get anything to grab. I'll try loosen it up next time. Are some type of ribs easier for this than others?

you can also use a pair of pliers to pull it off

Spares and babybacks are both the same as far as removing the membrane. This what I do:
Turn the rack over and look at the bones on each end. On one end the bones will be much flatter and wider. Go to the last wide bone and push a butter knife under the membrane with the pressure pushing down on bone or you'll tear the membrane. Work the butter knife all the way down the bone from one end of it to the other. I like to give the knife a twist towards the middle of the rack to make the membrane release from the very end of the rack. The membrane should be loose enough to grab it with a paper towel and pull it off easily.
Once it's off I take a teaspoon and scrape the fat off of the meat, if there is any. Then you're good to go.

So do I. Lots of flavor and it's really good when it gets crispy.

Costco removes the membrane from the ribs they sell. And the meat is decent and priced low.

Go to WAL Marks in the fishing section and get a Catfish Skinner. They are about $3-$4 and work for a number of other things besides skinning catfish.

It's actually very easy.

The last few times I was too lazy to pull it off and noticed no difference in the ribs.
Insane in the membrane....insane in the brain!

Use butter knife to loosen an end to grab. Use paper towel to grip and rip.

+ 1 on the catfish skinner

Nor have I either way.

I used to pull the membrane off then I stopped. It seems like my ribs dried out more with it off.
