One of the better bbq places in Memphis. It's not drowned in that shitty sauce that most of those places up there tend to do.

I ate it, and I liked it. I'm fat, so you can trust my opinion.

It's ok, I mostly find memphis BBQ overrated, but I prefer Texas BBQ.

It's okay but not great. There are other places in that city that serve better ribs. Seems like that place is not as good as it was 20 years ago.

I think it's a pretty cool experience. I enjoyed the ribs the two times I went. It's not the best I've ever had, but it was certainly good and I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Rendezvous is decent BBQ, but no where near the best in town. If you do go get the sausage and cheese plate, best thing they have. It is a cool location and an iconic BBQ place so kind of fun. If you want better BBQ look at central or midtown commissary.

I actually agree with this, but

If you go to Memphis and don't eat there, people will only want to talk about Rendezvouz with you. At least, that's been my experience.

Never heard of midtown commissary. I know there is a Germantown commissary.

you do realize the Memphis is known for its dry rub ribs, right?

To the OP - rendezvous is decent enough. It's assembly line ribs (touristy) so it's hit or miss. I'd go to Central BBQ or BBQ Shop if you can. Much better.

I think rendezvous is worth checking out for a first timer. I think it's a place that's just cool to hate on since it's such a tourist magnet. Great atmosphere too. Bbq shop was my go to in Memphis however.

Redezvous ribs are grilled for an hour. The rub is heavy on the paparika, and the sauce is okay. All in all, you will come away full but not purring. Service - the smart-assed waiter type - I thought was long on show and short on personal service. Agree with getting the sausage and cheese plate.

The Cozy Corner has reopened! So you can get add them to the ribs list. Best known for their bbq'd Cornish Game hen and pies. I like the ribs with the MILD bbq sauce.

Rendezvous ribs are not BBQ. They are charcoal grilled. If you go you will not see the word BBQ inside or outside. Basted while cooking...rub added at finish. IMO not as good as they used to be, but you will enjoy the experience.
