Yeah we've had it booked for sometime so money isn't too big of a deal, although the US dollar is a lot stronger at the moment so I would appreciate to get my moneys worth. We all love our barbecue and our seafood but open to pretty much all ideas as we are visiting another country so I would like to experience all the local specialties. I cant wait to try my first Louisiana gumbo. I'd like some recommendations of Pubs and bars with a great atmosphere and good food especially in Nashville, Austin & New Orleans/Baton Rouge as they are not the most common places visited here so it's difficult to find many ideas.

Thanks mate, I'll dot them down and see what we feel like on the day but I have heard a lot about chimes, 'so that's definitely on the cards. Staying on Corporate blvd

These are my recommendation from my experiences
NYC: employees only (cocktail bar), the dead rabbit (cocktail bar), please don't tell (also known as PDT, cocktail bar), the ides bar in Brooklyn (cocktails with a skyline view of manhatten), best pizza (really good pizza place), union square cafe (great place, a little expensive, close to Central Park).
Nashville: the Patterson house (cocktail bar), yazoo brewing company (brewery), princes hot chicken shack (best chicken around).
Austin: easy tiger (bakery, craft beer off 6th street), Franklin BBQ (best BBQ around), torchy's tacos (tacos obviously), second bar + kitchen (great American food), whip in (craft beer bar), bangers sausage house and beer garden (hot dogs, sausage and beer)
New Orleans: I'll leave this one to the locals because there's newer places I have not tried, but don't go to Nola smokehouse.
Baton Rouge: chimes on highland (go the night before the game), Sammy's (solid seafood), bulldog (craft beer and bar food), Chelsea's cafe (good food and good atmosphere), parrains seafood (good seafood).
Vegas: gamble, drink, do drugs, eat buffet.
San Fran: I got nothing.
LA: The Hobbit in Orange, Ca (kind of far out the way of LA but one of the best restaurants I've ever been to and worth the drive out), Harlowe (cocktail bar in Hollywood).
Enjoy the trip

On game day just hit the tailgates and tell people where your from.. You'll be catered to all day long and wont cost y'all a cent. And you won't find better food anywhere.
Your more than welcome to stop by our tailgate

For sushi in SF, look hard at Zushi Puzzle, great little joint.
On game day at LSU, just head to campus, wear Aussie clothes and an LSU cap, talk to folks, and you'll eat and drink for free everywhere.
And add to your thread name ASAP to avoid the anchor. Admin's get their panties bunched up over silly crap like one or two name threads.

In Baton Rouge my vote for local flavor on the higher end would be be Louisiana Lagniappe. Mansur's on the Boulevard is good too and on Corporate. The Chimes will be packed on gameday but its a good choice for casual fare as is Sammys Grill. New Orleans, God I dont know where to begin. You could go on a eating tour of the city for weeks and still not make a dent in the number of awesome places to eat.

Do you know where in Los Angeles you're staying? The city is insanely large and spread out. If you're not staying out there already, i'd recommend a trip to Venice Beach and Santa Monica.
The Hollywood area really isn't that cool. It's pretty seedy along Hollywood Blvd but may be worth a walk just to see the walk of fame, wax Museum, etc if you want. I recommend going to the Hollywood Roosevelt at night however. The talent there is unbelievable and a lot of actors, musicians, etc like to go there at night. The hidden Library Bar there is a must. Other spots in the area at night are Good Times at Davey Wayne's, Harvard & Stone, Three Clubs (more of a dive). Hit up Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles for late night food. I'd also spend some time during the day hiking Griffith park and checking out the Griffith Observatory.

Shoot me an email and I'd be glad to have Yall at our tailgate for that Game. Our whole crew is mid to late 20s and we have an awesome tailgate right by the stadium. Several of us including myself went to Melbourne back in 2006 so we know what you Aussies are all about.
