That is just false. Look up any Michael Hudman/Andy Ticer or Kelly English. I'd put their restaurants up against anything Nashville has to offer

Birmingham would be #1 for me. It has become an amazng food spot.

As one who lives in Nashville, I haven't had the opportunity to try the vast majority of Birmingham spots. That said, the little of it that I've tried, I've generally found it to be better than what Nashville offers.

re: Rank these Southern cities for food
Charleston (Savannah? What the hell is wrong with you?)
Memphis
Charlotte
Nashville
Asheville
Birmingham ( If the Bright Star was in Birmingham instead of Bessemer it would have bumped this up)

re: Rank these Southern cities for food
It's Birmingham as the top, without a doubt. Followed by Memphis because of barbecue

I said it's a negative that their only good restaurants are BBQ places. They don't have good fine dining spots like other cities.

Nashville has hot chicken as a food they're known for. ).

What? Sorry, but you couldn't be more misinformed. As has already been said in this thread, I'd put Kelly Englis, Andy Ticer, Michael Hudman, Felicia Suzanne, Erling Jensen, Ryan Trimm etc up against any chefs from Nashville. Also, I wouldn't use Nashville hot chicken in this argument either...have you ever heard of Gus's?

Bright Star?? There were better restaurants in Birmingham when I lived there 15 years ago. Birmingham easily over Memphis and Asheville and Savannah.

Yea, Bright Star is good and all, but that post is just silly.
