I just caught if at the last second when I was driving by, but I'm pretty sure I saw a sign for a Ralph's Market on the corner of 1077 and 1085. Can't really find any info online. Can anyone confirm this?

I know they are building a new store in that area.

This is true. It is scheduled to open this time next year. The site work and building pad prep work is about to commence. There will also be a strip center adjacent to it. I have the plans for the site on my desk.

Ralph's is supposed to be a high-end grocery store, ala Whole Foods and such. It should do great in that location.

Is that where a Rouse's was rumored? On the SE corner?

Know nothing about Ralph's, but am interested in another grocery option in my area.

I heard there was supposed to be a Rouses on the NW corner behind the McDonalds, across from the Red Cross. Not sure if that's still in the cards as well. Either way, I'm just happy to eventually be getting ANY grocery store in the area. I live in the front of Bedico Meadows subdivision and it's a trek to get to any of the local groceries.

Yes. It is across the street from Hannan High.

It is my understanding that Rouse's backed out last year due to the cost of the impact and wetlands mitigation fees.

The roundabout is going in at the red light during next summer as soon as school is out. We need the roundabout NOW!!

if that is what they are hyping it as ppl will be sadly disappointed when it opens. Ralphs and AG don't hae the reach to bring in produce and products to match the products whole foods carries.

They should come clean and say it will be on the level of a calandro's... Mark has every high end product AG and independent distributors that service this area has to offer in his perkins store and it's no where near a whole foolds

Yeah, the roundabout is much needed. I cannot believe the traffic in the area. Luckily when I go to work it's usually around 6:15 so I don't have to sit through it all.

Everything I've heard and read, including from my HOA and the AOA, is that there are NO current state plans for a roundabout, and it's the state's responsibility to do it, not the parish.

I hope that's wrong info, because I can't imagine putting much more at that intersection without it.

The roundabout is shown on my plans I have here, but don't know where the state stands with it. I was told by someone with the geotech engineer that it was going to be constructed as soon as this school year was over.

I have also heard a hundred other things about this development, so who knows.

Ralph's and Calandro's nowhere near Whole Foods or Alexander's and Mark Calandro is a total douchebag FWIW

They were working on it today. I passed at 6:30am and one of the workers had a big f-250 straddled long ways across the ditch facing north on 1077. When I passed at 2:45 the truck was buried to the quarter panels. It was raining. Did not look happy.

It's totally believable when the zoning board is made up of idiots who lack the capacity for foresight.

Western St. Tammany is working hard to become Kenner.
