Just to let everyone know- chicken prices are the lowest they have ever been. Most processing plants are losing money every day.

to those that raise prices

(and they make a killing on fries, cabbage, and bread, btw)

Cane's has big crowds for Ohio opening; 5 more locations planned Raising Cane's opened its fifth location in Columbus, Ohio, last week and more than 1,600 diners showed up on the first day. Tim McCarthy Jr., who co-owns the franchise rights for the area, told Fast Casual magazine that more than 50 people were at the door, waiting for Cane's to open. The chicken-tender chain plans to open four more restaurants this summer, including its first stores in Opelousas and Broussard. This fits in with the company’s plan of filling in areas where it doesn't have locations, spokeswoman Julie Perrault says. "We already were in the Acadiana area, so people are familiar with it." Cane's will also open additional locations in Hammond and Shreveport and a restaurant in Plano, Texas, where the company moved much of its operations earlier this year.—Timothy Boone

I find it to be a bargain.

I actually stopped supporting them. I always try to support local, but I can't support them anymore.

Besides, didn't they move their corporate office to Dallas?

They're expensive, but Jesus, you have to get a Caniac with some extra fixins to get over $10.

To Cane's defense, Otter's isn't any cheaper.

And it sucks too.

The price of fried chicken at a fast food place is completely out of hand. I walked into a KFC for the first time in about 3 years the other day. The meals were $8 to $9 each without the drink!

Why the hate for Cane's raising prices? Are they not a business, allowed to try to make a profit? Obviously it isn't hurting their bottom line, guys.

You make a very valid point. They can raise their prices and I can stay away. God Bless America.

I think most of it stems from the fact that as thier prices go up their quality goes down. The size of their fingers gets smaller. In this economy they do that at their own risk. Eventually it will likely catch up to them.

Haven't went to Cane's in a long time. Used to go about once a week. Their food isn't the same anymore and their prices are way too high for what you get.

I like canes but I don't eat it as often anymore because of the prices.

I remember the days when the caniac combo had 7 pieces. It was cheaper than the 6 pieces it has now.
