Lester you seem like a good guy and fairly knowledgeable on health and fitness related topics. I am just going to assume your deer spray testimonial is a giant troll less I lose my ability to respect you.

And here is an explanation from Alan Aragon who is much more knowledgeable on the matter than any of us here.

quote:

Whether fat oxidation is greater during waking or sleeping hours doesn’t matter. What matters is 24-hour fat balance, which is fat synthesis minus fat oxidation. See, those are the 2 sides to the equation. If you eat less during the day & more at night, fat oxidation will occur at a greater rate during the day. If you do the opposite, fat oxidation will occur at a greater rate through the night – & you end up at the same spot. After 24 hours, the body doesn’t know nor care which half of the day contributed to either a net loss, gain, or maintenance of fat balance

There are no negative side effects, you should honestly try it and see what you think. What are you afraid of?

it's sad that you are one of those people that see 1 article and believes it relates to every single person, as if every person is the same.

If you are truly serious about health and fitness, you shouldn't let 1 article dispel your thoughts about any subject. There are always 2 sides to every story.

The same way that Alan Aragon probably knows what he is talking about, that explanation isn't very scientific. Did you know there are studies that disprove exactly what he is saying? Who to believe? ---- experiment for yourself, lil man.

Actually I have read article after article about this and that is how I informed my opinion on the matter. Heck I used to believe the same thing.

and not saying it wrong. But eating late for me interrupts my sleeping pattern, and makes me more prone to heartburn. Thus, it affects my health.

Starting back after about a 2 year hiatus. I dropped down to 225 but was in a car wreck and f'd my back up pretty bad. I know what to do and how to do it. Time to put in the work.

I have read that it can affect circadian rhythms and make some have reflex issues. That said other than some people being prone to overeat at night or snack on calorie dense foods at night it is not going to have an effect on weight loss. That said that setting a eating schedule of not eating past say six in the evening can be beneficial to some in that it limits your daily intake.

Made some keto friendly taco shells this afternoon by frying some shredded quesadilla cheese then hanging it over some skewers I had on a pot in order to shape the cheese. It was amazing

I'm so easy to please with food

Same on the unplanned hiatus. Was doing good a couple of years ago, starting gaining weight during the football season (booze and eating late) and then boom, emergency surgery and put me off my routine. Could not do shite for 4 months. All my fault in allowing myself to make excuses and fall back into old habits. Just turned 47 and this was the first LSU game I did't have more than one cocktail. Got to get mind/body on the right path as my family history sucks.

Still doing exactly what I wanted to be doing during football season. Looked back over the myfitness pal data and I've lost seven pounds during the football season.

5 more to go, and I had hoped to be at my target by Nov 15, so I've got 3 weeks to make it happen. After that, I plan to keep up with P90X3 as my schedule allows, but y'all know shite gets crazy during the holidays.
There is a good chance I'll re-evaluate my target and set a new goal for next year

I've been doing this for 5 days. It knocks around 430calories off of me each time.

This was where I was before football season started.
Progress? Nope.

Nov. 1st 233/233/190

190 long term, but next goal is below 225 before Turkey day.

Great job, Albert by the way.

I'm 5'10.

I made a lifestyle change. Healthy lunch and dinner with a good snack or two. I work nights so I don't eat breakfast. Also exercise and less beer.

Still hanging out around 200...bouncing up to 205 and down to 198ish. Diet hasn't been nearly as strict as it has been in the past, but still hitting the gym regularly and trying to get back on track.
