I started insanity a while back,

repeating the same bad habits and expecting different results.

Starting to suspect I have a parasite in me. Monday's weigh in was 236 and change. I know this sounds stupid, but I'm hoping tomorrow's weigh in will be a bit higher. If it's any lower I'm really going to start getting worried.

Some weeks your body just loses quicker than others. I remember the first time I did Weight Watchers and I lost 4.5 lbs in a week- hasn't happened before or since then, but that was a hell of a week!

Gotta start psyching myself up for a good weekend today- Do not over eat, do not drink too much (repeat) Do not over eat, do not drink too much (repeat)

Forgot to weigh this morning. My sleep schedule has been extremely erratic as of late, switching back to day shifts. Sleep 3 or 4 hours here, 3 or 4 hours there, extremely tired 24/7. Yesterday I laid down on my couch to take a nap, slept for 3 hours, then got up for 2 seconds and moved to my bed and slept until 2AM. My routine is way thrown off, so I forget to weight in before I eat and shower and all.

So, I've officially decided to hop back on the keto diet train. That saw me to about 65 pounds of weight loss in about 9 months in the start so obviously it works. I am carb sensitive so the less carbs I eat, the more weight I lose, generally. What I'm doing now obviously isn't working much as far as the scale is concerned. I think I have been putting on muscle, which is awesome, but I made myself a promise to hit 220 this year. So I'll still exercise but I'm going to go through an adjustment period since I won't be getting in carbs. I figure I'll start out doing WMF full body weightlifting sessions, nothing super heavy, all 8-12 rep range work with 30-45 minutes of cardio after, and on non-gym days, go for runs or walks.

I tend to always keep promises I make, so I can't let myself break my own promise.

Just kidding, good luck. Doing the calorie counting deficit plan worked best for me because I didn't have to eliminate anything from the diet but you know your body best and should go with whatever works for you.

A lot of people are very fond of keto.. oh wait, nevermind, all the keto guys have disappeared

But yeah. Just counting calories and eating whatever I want definitely does NOT work for me, I've tried it. I will put on weight like crazy even if I count calories. I wish I was someone who could eat whatever they want in moderation and be okay, but for some reason I can't. Part of the problem is I am a big dude and have a HUGE appetite, and a lot foods I like most are terrible for you and very calorie dense. Burgers and pizza, for example. Lately I've been eating healthy but with carbs, so like quinoa, brown rice, rolled oats, etc. with lean meat and vegetables. I can eat more and stay within calorie limits. While I feel great, I'm not seeing desired results. Part of that is drinking on the weekends for sure, which obviously on a ketogenic diet I'll have to eliminate altogether. I think part of the success of the ketogenic diet with me is because it's so strict. I have a reason to say "no" to things I shouldn't even have in the first place, like booze. Furthermore, falling out of ketosis from cheating sucks major arse because then you have to go through the 'carb flu' all over again... so even harsher repercussions if I cheat. Keto is so strict, though, that I have trouble maintaining it for long periods of time. I get bored, basically.

tl;dr keto works really well for me and other things I've tried in the last couple of years just don't seem to be as effective for me.

Well I'm going to try this again..As I inched near the 300 mark I think I finally had my breakthrough that something has to change..

Since the last week of January I have cut out soda, fast food and simple carbs. I've been eating mostly lean protein (chicken, pork) with some steak thrown in the help out in the flavor department, and vegetables. Eggs as well.

Also been in the gym 3-4 times a week. Seen good results so far but it's early so thats to be expected..

I have a lone Smuttynose IPA, a Coors light and Dos Equis that were given to me. None of those are going to tempt me. I do have a Grand Reserve aging still, but I have no plans of opening that anytime soon.
