new scale gets here today, so tomorrow I should have some normalcy when hopping on the scale.
Also, it's been a nearly a week without hitting 260+ on the scale, so I'm going to assume that it's safe to say those are gone forever.

I'd offer you to race to 220 since we're neck and neck, but I'm taking a vacation in a week and will surely pack on a few pounds

already making excuses before the race even starts!
In the past, I'd have probably taken you up on such an offer. This time though, I'm taking things nice and slow. I fully expect it to take me until probably March-ish to get down to that 220 mark, and even that's pushing things and would require me losing 2 pounds per week on average.
All that said though, it really is extra motivation to be so close to each other in weight. I actually remember when I caught you and did a little move like the one below.

You've done great work. I did great work for a while then.. not so great in 2013. But I'm adamant about getting to 250 come Christmas and 220 in 2014. It's a lot slower going nowadays than it was when I was 300+ pounds. It was so effortless then..

Yeah I feel ya on that one, but I know for a fact that we'd both rather be fighting harder at this point than to have it easy at 300+ again
I think breaking the 250 barrier by Christmas is extremely doable (for both of us) shite, that's only 10 pounds in right at 2 months. I'm kind of worried about thanksgiving and christmas though, but since my wife will probably end up being the one that cooks it I can put in a request for some salad and extra greens that wouldn't normally be there. As long as I can stay away form the Mississippi Mud that is a family tradition on her side, I'll be golden. I've actually gone as far as to bring my own nutrisystem meal to thanksgiving since one of them is turkey and stuffing, but I'm not sure I can turn down a rare nice home cooked meal.

I plan on not cheating between holidays so that I can eat whatever I want (within reason) on the holiday. That's the best way to navigate the holidays, I think.
The most distracting part is when family members tell you "Oh you're not really BIG anymore, you don't need to lose much more, how much do you want to lose?" "oh.. another 40 or 50" and they get bug-eyed and say "really? I don't think you need to lose that much".. I know they're trying to be nice but I think the sense of what's a healthy weight and what's not is skewed significantly around here.

Literally just had that conversation with a co-worker as I was headed to heat up my lunch...
"you still on your diet"
"yessir"
"how much have you lost so far"
"55 lbs"
"how much are you trying to lose still?"
"If everything goes right another 45 lbs or so"
"woahhhh that's too much!"
I'll still probably be listed as obese in a BMI chart after that goal is accomplished, but yeah, it's too much. I also have a co-worker who addresses me as "skinny" now which makes me want to punch her in the ovaries

most of my family addresses me as "skinny" when I walk up to them. I know the feel. I just let it slide, but I know I'm not skinny so it feels like they're lying to my face

Family and friends will try to sabotage your weight loss goals every chance you get. I just dont get it.
I only had one lady that I worked with continue to tell me how skinny I was getting. Everyone else though gave compliments, which was awesome. However I wasn't losing a big number of lbs like some of you. But the point is, some people just don't understand. And could probably stand to lose a few lbs themselves..
Keep up the good work everyone

I must have got on to the new scale this morning 6 different times, two or three before my shower and then again after it...the only change was after the shower when I apparently washed the stink off of me which weighed almost 1/2 a pound. All other readings were consistent which was a first in a very long time.

Started an anti-fast today. May not weigh in until Tuesday. I'm afraid my fat season has begun.
