It hits the spot.
And I love the "no shits given" attitude of the workers.

I have been going there since 1974. For decades they undisputedly had the best burger in town. They had very good pizzas too. Now gourmet burger joints are popping up all over the place. They should be embarrassed to put fake bacon bits on the baked potato. I still love the place though.

Not worth the wait or money. Port of Call got big when there weren't any other good burger options in NOLA. There are way better burgers out there these days.

Baked potatoes suck with anything. Especially burgers.

You have to load up a baked potato for it not to be terrible. Not the same with fries.

Burger and potato are good and there are better burgers in the city. But the cool, relaxed atmosphere and the jukebox.. on a hot summer day, with a big cold Neptune monsoon are authentically French Quarter and very nostalgic.

This is a recipe for the monsoon, that was posted here, in days gone by..

2 oz. white rum
2 oz. 151 rum
1 oz. each - orange juice, pineapple juice, red fruit punch, and sour mix

garnish with orange slice and maraschino cherry

The bartenders were certainly slinging quite a few of those yesterday!

$12 for a huge burger and baked potato isn't bad at all.

No one has denied that. It's still good though.

Port of Call hits the spot at 11 AM on a Sunday after a night of drinking.

Baked potatoes are delicious. I typically load em up, but butter only is pretty dang good. Love the skin too.

Been there once in the afternoon after drinking since 9 am, thought it was the best burger i've ever had. Gotta go back and try it sober.

I've had two terrible experiences the last two times I've been; I won't be back unless it's someone else's request.

Was it the service? Because it's usually shite when I go but I still like the place a lot.

Food & service

-One time ordered medium & got hockey pucked
-One time ordered medium & got entirely raw; I'd normally just ask them to cook it a little longer, but our service was so pitifully slow that I said screw it.
