What's the big deal? Had one at Tony Luke's the other night. I'd take a good roast beef poboy any day over that crap!

I'm not an expert, but I'm guessing Louisiana is not the best place to get a good Philly Cheesesteak.
Kind of like getting a good poboy outside LA.

roast beef is probably my least favorite poboy.
i love a good oyster poboy.

I couldn't agree with you more. I had an oyster club at the nola brewhouse the other day that was a regular club with fried oysters subbed for ham and turkey. It was amazing. Back to roast beef though, I don't like a regular poboy so much but an open faced sandwich with gravy is up there for me. I also love philly cheesesteaks and eat them like they are going out of style.

and I agree with OP. It tasted like meat was boiled in water. No flavor at all. Actually left a Yelp check in, and review saying same thing.

Mine too I enjoy them, but I think I was used to a little more spice from getting them down here. It was just kinda bland at TL's. I travel a lot on business so I try to hit famous eateries just to say I been there.
I know I'll get flack for this, but I enjoy the Tiger Steak from South Of Philly :ducksincomingfire:

liberty here in new orleans is pretty solid. i think they even fly in supplies from philly for them (bread)
