I have 8 lbs of meat....how much pasta to go along? I've always used a 1:1 ratio with meat to cups of rice for my Jambalaya. Is it the same 1:1 for pastalaya?

I'm using 8lbs of meat....so does 2.5 lbs of pasta sound about right?

Slightly over 3 pounds of dry pasta. You might want to download Stadium Rat's calculator and check the tips for pastalaya before you start.

I use 3-1 ratio so based on 8 lbs of meat I would use 2 1/2 to 3 lbs of pasta.

2.5 lbs. I usually use a little more than 3 lb per lb of pasta, which makes a meaty pastalaya.

Most pasta comes in a 1lb pack, use of 3 of them and pick a 1lb pack of sausage, andouille or tasso while you at the store

If you normally use 1 lb of meat per cup of rice, you should use exactly 3.2 lbs of pasta to maintain that ratio.

I don't see one attributed to Treedawg. Which one is it?

No, that one was posted by LSUDad and came from a website called Cajun Creations. Chef Jeff's last name is Hebert.

I tried it today using Orzo instead of spaghetti and added 1/2 lb of tasso. Pretty damn good.
