Meeting family in town for FQF, going to Tujaque's- their decision, with all going on, what is the best option for parking in that area? Thanks for any help. No, no pics, PIIHB is not an option.

You can't drive there much less park there.

Edit: If you see a vacant lot with people charging for parking in the Marigny, be very cautious. There's a scam where folks set up, take your money, then the tow trucks come.

Would it work to park near the convention center and take the red street car down? Are they at all consistent?

Not an option. Park east of Esplanade and walk in.

One option is to park at Harrah's casino and pay the $30 outright or whatever it is, OR put a few bucks into the slots with a players card which you can get the day of. As long as you play a minimum of 30 minutes (you have to make a pull every 3 minutes and I think the minimum is 40 cents), parking is free (or four bucks if you lose every bet).

Wear comfortable shoes, because you are going to walk a mile from wherever you park.

I think that is excellent advice. Would you rec any parking garages or is it find it on the street and tromp in?

Honestly, I'd probably park near city park where the line starts and take the streetcar downtown in from there. Parking is free. The streetcars have AC. But the line stops running at 10. And you have to make sure you catch the right streetcar on Canal on your way back. City Park/Museum not Cemeteries. It will be crowded but a lot less frustrating.

Some folks still like the brisket and some other dishes. We had a very poor experience there last Spring, though. Maybe it was a really bad off night, but it just wasn't very good at all. We'd heard it had improved a lot and that's why we gave it a try, plus it's rather historic.
