Parish Brewery Tour/Billeaud's Boudin

Place was much smaller than I expected, they are very efficient cranking out what they do. I had more than my share of Grand Reserve, Canebreak and their pale ale Envie. All the beers were amazing. The pale ale is only available in Lafayette, Mockler won't distribute in BR bc they didn't want to introduce it at same time as New Belgiums beer. They are introducing a limited Farmhouse IPA which will be available in a few weeks in all their normal cities. The owner and and brewmaster was a young guy, very nice and knowledgable former chemical engineer and was happy to talk of the science behind the process.
After the tour and many complimentary glasses, I was able to go to Billeaud's (A+. By Boudinlink.com) which was right down the road and on the way back to the interstate. The cooked boudin was incredible. I picked up some refrigerated packs as well. I must admit I thought it was even better than Bourque's in Port Barre and a place I can't remember in Krotz Springs. The cracklins are best I've ever had and pork skins are very good too.
I hope this wasn't too long and rambling, still feeling effects from free Canebreak.

The place in krotz springs is probably Billy's. I stop every time I go through there. They also have a place in Scott.

Did you get to taste the farmhouse IPA?

No I did not, it was in 'cellar' and needed a couple more weeks before it was ready.

Envie may be one of the better session beers coming out of La. If available in cans, it'd be my new game day beer of choice.

I really enjoyed it, shame they can't distribute in BR.

I picked up some of his smoked sausage and used it in a jam, was pretty good.
