Lovelovelovelove Panera Bread. We always stop at the Panera Bread in Spanish Fort right after Mobile on our way to Destin.

Why can't NOLA get a Panera?

Or a Five Guys
Or an Izzos

I said New Orleans! That's like me saying I wish there was a Tiger Attorney in NOLA and you telling me there is when we both know damn well he lives in Metairie.

I dont want to drive 20 minutes for my burrito. I want one closer.

Instead of building a damn CVS on Napoleon and Claiborne they could put in an Izzos, 5 Guys, and Panera and I'd be happy.

I just wish that Kokopelli's would have re-opened after Katrina.

I like Filipe's. The chorizo isn't bland. Kokopelli's had a lot of other influences besides Mexican. That is what made it so good. That Thai chicken buritto was an object sent from heaven.

b/c they didn't make it. They just cooked it.

Their chicken, steak, and carnitas are all bland.
the rice is bland
the black beans are bland
they are cheap on the cheese
the guacamole tastes like it was cut w/ sour cream

Kokopellis, I usually went w/ crawfish or shrimp

Juans and Felipes > Izzos (as was Kokopeli's -- I miss that place)

I like Five Guys okay, but there's certainly no shortage of places in town to get a decent quick burger.

Yep. The cilantro rice they would use in it was great.

Having lived in STL for a few years(6) it is not a "chain" as you se easily diss. It is first and foremost an artisanal bread bakery. Has some very good stuff. The foods that they serve a very down to earth, nutritious alternatives to all of the crap you just described.

It is a pretty large chain. They have over 1000 locations. Panera Bread = St. Louis Bread Co., if thats what you were thinking.

Personally I like it. Glad to have something new around

at the very least you can get a few different types of fresh baked bread from Panera. how many places in BR can you get fresh baked whole grain baguette, foccacia or brioche from? They also have a ridiculous bagel and baked good selection. Its not the best shite ever but its a lot better than much of whats out there right now. Winning Baton Rouge....Winning anyone?
