I'm at 43 inches because my electric smoker is under there to the far left. Where the regular grill sits is 36.

Did you run gas? Or is there a tank under there?

We ran gas when we built the pool to get all of the dirt work completed about three years ago. We just capped the gas and then tapped back into it.

I can't tell from the pictures, but if your BBQ area is enclosed on 3 sides, you may want to consider installing an exhaust fan to clear the smoke from your outdoor kitchen when smoking/bbqing
