I'll eat pretty much anything. Not looking for fine dining but if there's a highly recommended place I'm down to try it.

Best steak house in OC is Mastros. 2 locations.

Las Brisas in Laguna Beach is decent Mexican right on the beach.

Westminster has the best Vietnamese food outside of Vietnam.

Bluefin in Newport Beach is the best sushi I've had.

If you like beer and American food in a chain setting The Yard House at Irvine Spectrum fits the bill.

Tin tin in Anaheim is pretty legit Chinese food imo.

Honestly just use Yelp for whatever you want. There's so many fricking Yelpers here it's pretty accurate.

I enjoy the beer and wine, along with a killer cheese plate at Colony Wine Merchant in Anaheim.

Give the pork soup dumplings (xiao long bao) at Din Tai Fung at Southcoast Plaza a try (it's in Costa Mesa). All the food there is good, actually, but that's what they're known for.

Get some bread from 85 degrees bakery on Alton Parkway.

As for what another poster said about the Vietnamese food in Westminster, I've been told by a lot of people (mostly my wife, who is Vietnamese, and a lot of her family) that it is actually the best Vietnamese food in the world because everything is fresher than in Vietnam. Try out Brodard. Not Brodard Chateau, but regular Brodard. They're famous for rolls, kind of like spring rolls. They have a crack sauce for dipping.

Playground - American Tapas
ETcetera sushi - nothing glamorous but really good sushi
Pueblo - American tapas (my personal favorite)
Mutt lynchs - a great dive bar on the beach with awesome wings
Watermarc - American, get the seafood paella best single dish I've had in the area.

Mattern Deli. Small German deli that shares a parking with a Wienerschnitzel. Sandwiches are good and inexpensive, and they make their own sausages.

Javier's in Newport Coast. If you can make it down to Crystal Cove SP you can check out The Beachcomber for something a little different. In south county check out Pizza Port for their beers. Tony's Little Italy in Placentia has legit Chicago-style Deep Dish.
