Yes, I know, it's hotter than hell, but I'm craving schnitzel. Chicken or pork, I don't care. Where can I get one in SE LA? Besides the schnitzel sandwich on Shayas lunch menu.
(Aside: is Shaya slammed at lunch too?)

Doesn't Gunther Preuss(sp) at Middendorfs do an Octoberfest menu in Sep and Oct?

Pinetta's on Perkins in BR. I eat it nearly ever time I go.

Not really, especially during the week. Usually the only time I go. Even on weekends you can usually grab a seat at the bar.

Good enough, not great. It's a regular stop for us when we weekend in the city. You should at least try it.

The tasting plate is good. The place is solid with good beers too.

Thanks for the Pinetta's tip....haven't lived in BR in more than 20 years, so I'm not up to speed on small/lowkey spots.

He does but he only offers it mid week - which imho is a mistake. Would be nice to get out of city for a few hours in fall on a weekend and drink beer and eat pork.

Is Pinnetta's still there? Always loved that place. Very under the radar, at least when I lived in BR.

Yep.

Went back to BR last month and took some people there.
Always great!
