Excellent little spot for authentic Nicaraguan food in Kenner. Only open for breakfast and lunch, but its the perfect place to go if you have time to kill before or after a flight at MSY. I was born in Nicaragua and have been back a few times but it's been too long.
I'd recommend the Fritanga. It comes with:
Carne asada (grilled steak)
Gallo pinto (rice&beans)
Vigoron (yucca, salad, & cracklins)
Queso frito (fried cheese)
Tajadas (plantain chips)
Maduros (sweet plantains)
Chancho frito (fried pork)
Repocheta (cheese quesadilla)
All for around $13. Can't beat that.
