I'm coming in town with a few friends with Texas and needs recs for brunch spot (Friday morning) and something relatively casual that Saturday evening post Jazz Fest (thinking something seafood and something that doesn't require us to dress up and/or could go to directly from Fest). For remainder of trip, we've got dinner plans at Herbsaint and Dragos.
Not looking for anything fine dining - think New Orleans centric, good food. Any ideas?

Also, working on a list of must get a cocktail places (FQ/downtown centric):
Carousel Bar
Sazerac Bar in Roosevelt
Lafitte's
Hurricane at PatO's
Anything else?

Do lunch at dragosor go there after jazzfest. Don't waste a dinner there.

This past weekend I hit up Cafe Degas, Luke, and Cochon. All three were amazing meals and I would recommend them all. Cafe Degas is within walking distance of the fairgrounds and was a really nice place to sit down and relax after walking around all day at Jazzfest.

Liuzzas or Katie's are not too far from the fest. Atchafalaya for brunch is killer, but getting a reservation for Friday may be tough.

Liuzza's is fine. on the other hand Liuzza's by the Track has been skating by on reputation for a while now and their jazz fest food is even worse than their normal food.
