This is a steal at $12.00. Soup or salad and pasta or sandwich. One choice today of soup which was cream of tomato with tarragon and creme fraiche. About five salads to choose from and about eight pastas.

I had a roasted root vegetable salad with mixed greens, balsamic reduction and pancetta., tomato creme pasta with vegetables. Wife had an Italian salad with Italian sausage pasta. All pasta is homemade and it's plenty of food.

Plus a basket of fresh bread. Deal of the day for me.

I like dinner there and they have a decent wine list. Pretty good crowd too.

That does sound good

Today I was on the west bank and stopped at a place called Cleopatra's, had the lunch filet mignon shish kabob, which came with an fantastic greek salad, along with hot & fresh pita bread!
I got water as usual but he bought me a bottle and charged me 1.75....

BUT
It was all still $12.80ish

Nice Call! I enjoyed lunch there today as well. About a weekly outing for me. Even getting used to the male server. ;-)

Yep, I usually have a salad but the roasted tomato soup sounded, and was, terrific!

I followed it with the light shrimp and fettucinne entree - butter, lemon, garlic, leek and capers. Flavors, ambiance, quality, and price are hard to beat.

May have to try it for dinner . . .

Our server was new and young. I'm sure he was training on the lunch shift as he told us he worked at their pizza place as well. He didn't know what tarragon was but he worked hard, was very polite and did a fine job. My wife compensated him well with my money. We each had a glass of wine and walked out thinking "why the hell don't we stop here more often?"

Worth every penny. We had much to do after lunch and it was just right portion wise. I didn't feel like I needed to go take a nap. Fortified.

It's on our route so it will be back in the picture.

I have enjoyed my visits here for dinner, I'll have to try a lunch there soon.

I really like the gnocchi and that baseball cut sirloin. Legit place that never gets mentioned around here.

I have wanted to try this place for lunch for a while. I work nearby. Is the lunch served quick enough for you to order, eat, and be done in less than 45 minutes?

It's leisurely but I'm sure if you mentioned a time frame they would accommodate. We were there around 11:30 with a few tables and just after noon it had a few more come in but not terribly crowded. I'd say yes but mention it when you are seated.

One of the best "hidden" restaurants in BR, and they have done some great things since they have taken over Oscars

This place is 3 minutes from my house and I'm yet to try it. When I want pizza, I always end up at Red Zeppelin. So, you're saying I should give it a shot?

Oscar's is quite good; it would be a regular spot for me if I lived in that part of town.

Ninos really is a great spot. The pizza is great, as is the Shrimp and pancetta Arrabiata. Havent found a bad dish on the menu yet. I dont know why its not more crowded, one of the best spots in town.
